Heat pumps have taken over premium new construction, but modern condensing gas boilers still win specific scenarios in Egypt. This pillar covers when gas is the right call and how Heatec sizes and installs.
Where Gas Still Beats Heat Pumps in 2026 Egypt
Three scenarios: heritage villas where outdoor units can't be sited; very heavy instant demand (large pools heating from cold); or owner preference based on existing gas service network familiarity.
Modern Condensing Boilers
90%+ seasonal efficiency vs ~70% for older non-condensing units. The boiler extracts energy from flue gas water vapour in addition to combustion. De Dietrich and Unical lead the premium Italian/French market in Egypt.
De Dietrich and Unical Positioning
De Dietrich: French engineering, excellent water-chemistry tolerance, long service interval. Unical: Italian, stainless steel heat exchangers, strong cascade options for very large villas.
Integration with UFH and Radiators
The boiler feeds UFH loops at 40-45C and radiators at 55-65C via a hydraulic separator. Heatec designs every gas install to be heat-pump-ready so future upgrade requires no pipework changes.
Flue Routing in Dense Compounds
Modern compounds enforce flue termination distances from windows and neighbour boundaries. Heatec coordinates flue design with the compound's MEP standard on every install.
5-Year Warranty
Heatec publishes 5 years on gas water heating equipment. Industry norm in Egypt is 1-2 years.
The Heatec Solutions Approach
Heatec installs gas heating with the same heat-pump-ready design discipline. 20 years on UFH piping, 15 years on radiators, 5 years on gas heating equipment. Lifetime after-sales support applies.
FAQ
Will gas heating become obsolete in Egypt?
Unlikely within the 15-year horizon of a new install. But the direction of travel favours heat pumps for new construction.
Can I switch a gas system to a heat pump later?
Yes if the distribution system was designed for it from day one. We design every Heatec gas system to be heat-pump-ready.
