What GRAT offers for swimming pools
GRAT builds full DC-inverter pool heat pumps for villas, compounds, hotels and clubs. The range goes from residential units up to large commercial machines of about 220 kW, which can be combined for big pools. An inverter heat pump slows down as the water approaches the set temperature instead of switching on and off, which keeps running costs low and the water temperature stable.
Full DC-inverter compressor and fan for efficient part-load running.
Built-in protections: electrical leakage, overload, high/low pressure, anti-freeze and compressor protection.
Independent certifications: CE, CB, TUV and FCC, from an ISO 9001 manufacturing base.
How big a GRAT unit does your pool need?
Size depends mainly on the pool's surface area (most heat is lost from the surface), whether it is indoor or outdoor, whether you use a cover, the target temperature and the months you want to swim. Wind exposure matters too — a North Coast pool facing the sea loses more heat than a sheltered pool in New Cairo. Use our free pool heat pump size calculator for a first estimate, then let an engineer confirm it with a heat-loss calculation before you buy.
Heat pump or gas heater?
A heat pump moves heat from the air into the water, so it uses far less energy than burning fuel and suits pools heated through the whole season. A gas heater warms water faster and can suit occasional use where piped gas is available. Heatec installs both — see our honest comparison.

Frequently asked questions
Who is the GRAT distributor in Egypt?
Heatec Solutions (هيتيك لحلول الطاقة), 18 Al-Jahez St., 7th District, Nasr City, Cairo, under a distributor certificate issued by GRAT in July 2026. More on the GRAT heat pumps page.
Does a GRAT pool heat pump work in winter in Egypt?
Yes. Egyptian winter air temperatures are well within the operating range of modern inverter pool heat pumps. Output falls as the air gets colder, which is why correct sizing and a pool cover matter most for December to February.
